Oct. 6: Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass by Frederick Douglass
Nov. 3: The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Malcolm X
Nov. 17: Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
Copies of the four books in the series are now available for check-out at the library.
This year’s Vermont Humanities Council (VHC) Vermont Reads selection is Brown Girl Dreaming, a childhood memoir told in verse by Jacqueline Woodson. Copies now available at the library. This summer and fall, we’ll be delving into the experience of African-Americans throughout our nation’s history through books, events, and discussions. We’ll be hosting a community read-aloud of Brown Girl Dreaming on Friday, Sept. 8 @ 4:30pm.
