**GARDEN TALK – JUNE 12TH @ 6:30 – “Companion Planting & IPM – Ecological Ways to Manage Pests in Your Garden.” All gardeners experience pest and disease problems from time to time, and managing these problems can be a real challenge. Pesticides are a quick ‘go-to’ solution but may not fit your personal gardening philosophy. This is where Companion Planting and integrated pest management (IPM) practices can be implemented to manage and suppress vegetable and flower garden pests with minimal impacts on your health and the environment. This talk will introduce companion planting and other IPM practices. Q&A at the close.
The Speaker, Susan Berry, is a certified and current Master Gardener through the Univ. of Vermont (2012), and a registered Master Gardener through the Univ. of New Hampshire (2017). She is also a published nature/hort illustrator, and garden designer (UVM, Cornell). She uses IPM practices in her personal gardens, in public gardens and in the tropical greenhouse at Gardener’s Supply.
