Volunteers help with various aspects of library service. Some keep regular hours at the circulation desk. Others help with programs like Story Hour or with fundraising events like the Book and Plant Sales and the Secret Garden Tour. Some help with the maintenance of our building and grounds. The value of their efforts is immeasurable.
There are many ways to be part of our vibrant and welcoming library…
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Technology Support Volunteer
Love all things tech? The library is looking for a technology support volunteer who can help out once a week or once a month (or even a one-time consultation) with keeping our network and public access computers secure and virus-free and/or software and hardware support. Please contact Emily at 439-5338 or email@example.com if you can help.
Circulation Desk Volunteer
We are currently looking for substitute circulation desk volunteers. The volunteer must be comfortable working with computers and opening/closing the library (we will train you to do both!)

Fundraising Committee Members & Volunteers
The library’s Fundraising Committee is always looking for help planning and executing our library fundraisers and fundraising events! You can join the committee or just help out on during specific fundraisers doing things like addressing envelopes, sorting books or digging plants for the Plant and Book Sale, selling raffle tickets, or planning a new fundraiser!
Our Building and Grounds Committee is always looking for volunteers to do small maintenance projects in and around the library. Recent volunteer projects include: shelf repair, installing hooks for our projector screen, and painting the handicapped accessible railing. Current opportunities include painting projects, building picnic tables, tree trimming, and more!
Story Hour Leaders and Helpers
We are looking for a Story Hour volunteer to alternate weeks with our current Story Hour volunteer, Wendy Heidenreich. Alternatively, the volunteer could be available for the occasional program or as a substitute. Story Hour volunteers lead children (mostly babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers) in songs, stories, and a craft project.
Have a special talent or skill you’d like to share with the children of the community? Be a special guest at Story Hour!
Thumbs’ Up to Our Current and Recent Volunteers!
