About: Get Involved

Volunteering is Good for the Heart!

Volunteers help with various aspects of library service. Some keep regular hours at the circulation desk. Others help with programs like Story Hour or with fundraising events like the Book and Plant Sales and the Secret Garden Tour. Some help with the maintenance of our building and grounds. The value of their efforts is immeasurable.

To find out how you can help out at the library, call us at 439-5338, e-mail us at libdirector@blakememorial.org, or read more here »

There are many ways to be part of our vibrant and welcoming library…

Story Hour Leaders and Helpers
We are looking for a Story Hour volunteer to alternate weeks with our current Story Hour volunteer, Wendy Heidenreich.  Alternatively, the volunteer could be available for the occasional program or as a substitute.  Story Hour volunteers lead children (mostly babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers) in songs, stories, and a craft project.

Have a special talent or skill you’d like to share with the children of the community?  Be a special guest at Story Hour!
